So, basically, you have to work on the file in a full install of Word, rather than Word Online. In the full version you have 2 options. You can embed your custom font, if your purchase of the font gave you the right to do that (have to check if you can embed the font and if it is embedded can it be used to edit the document. INTERESTING: When I changed the fonts to Arial, the PDF printed correctly! The 2 custom fonts I used, are both.otf Both of these are high quality. I do not have access to Microsoft Word 2011 for Mac myself, so I cannot confirm this report. According to this report, there are two unrelated font problems with Microsoft Word 2011 for Mac: (1) Word 2011 for Mac does not support.otf fonts (OT/CFF) with an UPM of 3333. (Word 2011 for Mac does support.otf fonts with an UPM of 1000. Word 2011 for Mac does support.ttf fonts with an UPM of 3333.) It seems that Word 2011 for Mac does not support.otf fonts with an UPM that is higher than 1000. (See for a discussion about the UPM of.otf fonts: '(2) Word 2011 for Mac does not support style-linking between different weights, if the two fonts involved are not the Regular (400) and the Bold (700) font. So, for instance, a style link between a Light and a SemiBold font, is not supported by Word 2011 for Mac. (See 'If this problem really exists, a common typeface like Myriad Pro is not supported by Word 2011 for Mac, because Myriad Pro Light (weight value 300) is style-linked to Myriad Pro Semibold (weight value 600). If so, will these problems be corrected in a future update of Microsoft Word 2011 for Mac? (if so, is there any indication when this update will be published?) Thanks. Ben Blom www.durotype.com.
